Córdoba, situada na Andaluzia, é
um excelente destino de primavera. Porquê? Devido à sua localização no sul de
Espanha, para além de beneficiar de um clima mediterrânico, apresenta uma
grande concentração de flores. A combinação do seu enquadramento pitoresco,
envolto numa mistura cultural, com a receção calorosa dos espanhóis, ao sabor
de tapas & vinhos da região e ao som do flamenco, dá uma mistura fantástica
difícil de encontrar noutro canto do mundo.
Cordoba, located Andalusia, is an excellent spring
destination. Why? Due to its location in the south of Spain, besides benefiting
from a Mediterranean climate, it has a great amount of flowers. The combination
of its picturesque surroundings, wrapped in a cultural mix, with the warm
reception of the Spanish people, the flavor of tapas & wines of the region
and the sound of flamenco, gives it a fantastic mix difficult to find in
another corner of the world.

Córdoba é fruto de uma longa
história. Nesta cidade cruzam-se vestígios de diferentes culturas e religiões,
o que se reflete na arquitectura da cidade e seu património. No coração da
cidade podes encontrar ruas estreitinhas e quase labirínticas resultantes da Judería,
velho bairro judaico. Não te atrevas a levar carro para o centro da cidade,
vais sofrer apertos e o GPS fica totalmente perdido!
Cordoba results from long history. This city
crosses vestiges of different cultures and religions, which is reflected in its
architecture and patrimony. In the heart of the city you can find narrow and
almost labyrinthine streets resulting from the Judería, old Jewish quarter.
Don’t you dare to take the car to the center of the city, you will suffer grips
and the GPS will be totally lost!

A herança mourisca deixou uma
bonita mesquita e pátios da época em que Córdoba foi capital ocidental do
império islâmico, que hoje coexistem com inúmeras igrejas católicas. A mesquita
é o
ex-libris da cidade, localizada no centro da Judería, e é hoje meio
mesquita, meio catedral. Isto deve-se ao facto de em 1523, parte da mesquita
ter sido destruída para construção da catedral. Para além do tamanho, a sua
riqueza arquitectónica reside nesta mistura.
The houses display a typical architecture that
was result of the cultural inheritance, since due to the climate, the social
and familiar life revolved around a patio that normally all the houses presented.
Thus, this city gains a special tonality in spring, when the white houses gain
new colors through the flowers of the patios. These flowers require a specific
and very careful watering system.

Em maio realiza-se na cidade um
festival dedicado aos pátios, onde os locais abrem as portas de sua casa a quem
passa, para mostrarem os seus pátios e flores. O município fornece mesmo um
mapa para se poder andar de pátio em pátio, e ser-se recebido em casa das
pessoas para admirar e reforçar o seu fabuloso trabalho.
In May a festival is held in the city dedicated
to the patios, where the locals open the doors of their houses to those who
pass, to show their patios and flowers. The municipality even provides a map
for you to be able to walk from patio to patio, being welcomed into people's
homes to admire and reinforce their fabulous work.

Para além dos pequenos Edens que
se podem encontrar em cada casa, alguns pátios apresentam uma arquitectura e azulejos
de inspiração mourisca que dão ainda mais cor ao pátio juntamente com as
flores. Normalmente, apresentam uma espécie de cancela ou portão em ferro que
permite espreitar para o seu interior, e tal como nos pátios árabes, existe
também uma fonte central. Para além dos inúmeros vasos de flores, apresentam
também laranjeiras ou limoeiros e o santinho, como manda a tradição católica,
que ali também se faz representar.
In addition to these small Edens (gardens of
God) that can be found in each house, some patios feature a Moorish-inspired
architecture and tiles that give even more color to the patio along with the
flowers. They usually have a sort of iron gate that allows them to peek inside
of them, and just as in Arabian yards, there is also a central fountain. In addition
to the numerous pots of flowers, they also present orange trees or lemon trees
and the saint, as ordered by the catholic tradition that also makes itself
represented there.

Uma ruela que gostei particularmente
foi
La calleja de las Flores ou Rua
das Flores, que permite ter uma estreita, mas bonita vista para a
mesquita/catedral!
A small street that I personally enjoyed was La calleja de las Flores or the Street of
Flowers, which allows to have a narrow, but beautiful view to the mosque/cathedral.

À noite não pode faltar uma boa
refeição com tapas e vinho da região, acompanhada por música e dança flamenca.
Existem vários restaurantes também eles em pátios típicos com oferta deste tipo
de programa, nomeadamente na zona da Judería.
In the evening you cannot miss a good meal with
tapas and local wine, accompanied by music and flamenco dance. There are also
several restaurants in typical patios offering this type of program, namely in
the Jewish Quarter.

Esta cidade fica lado a lado com
o rio Guadalquivir. Ao atravessar a Ponte Romana tem-se uma bonita vista para a
cidade, imagem que nos fica na memória!
This city is side by side with the Guadalquivir
River. When crossing the Roman Bridge you can have a beautiful view of the
city, an image that is kept in our memory!

Córdoba é sem dúvida uma das minhas cidades espanholas favoritas, que pode perfeitamente disputar a sua beleza com Madrid ou Barcelona. Fica a 500 km de
distância de Lisboa, cerca de 5h de carro. Se quiseres alongar a viagem para
outras paragens, poderás aproveitar para ir a Sevilha, Mérida, Málaga ou
Granada. Num fim de semana prolongado aproveitei para conhecer, para além de
Córdoba, os estonteantes palácios de Alhambra, perto de Granada. Fiquei
encantada. Partilharei essa experiência em breve.
Cordoba is with undoubtedly one of my favorite Spanish cities, which can perfectly compete against Madrid or Barcelona beauty. It's 500 km away from
Lisbon, about 5 hours by car. If
you want to extend the trip to other places, you can go to Seville, Merida,
Malaga or Granada. Over a long weekend, I had the opportunity to see, besides Cordoba,
the astonishing palaces of Alhambra, near Granada. I was amazed. I will
share this experience soon.
